Finding The Glasshoughton HWRC

The Glasshoughton tip is situated just to the north side of the M62, but isn’t directly accessible from the motorway. You’ll need to leave slightly to the east at junction 32 at XScape, following the signs for the A639 to Leeds.

Bear left passing Ford, then take the third exit at the roundabout to keep KFC on your left. Continue between Premier Inn and XScape, taking the second exit at the next roundabout to remain on the A639.

Take the second exit at the next roundabout by Costa Coffee, and continue to the next roundabout where you’ll go straight ahead on the second exit, signposted Normanton and Wakefield for Bruce Smeaton Way. Watch out for the signs to turn right after a couple of hundred yards, and you’ll find the dump just past the fairly recently built estates.
